Outfielder Madelyn Lucas

In Madelynn’s younger years, her older sisters played softball making her want to play. She played shortstop and first base, but now she's an outfielder. When she was in middle school she had an over the fence homerun and she had plenty of in the park homeruns throughout her career. Also, Madelynn badly broke her arm making her afraid to break it again. This caused her to take a break from playing. The advice she gave us was to never give up. That’s also the best advice she’s gotten from a coach.

Madelynn said that her team's weakness is probably self confidence. It’s also her weakness too. She said her strength is catching pop ups in the outfield. Her team's strength is hitting. One of her goals is to be number three batter instead of number four.

Her favorite part about softball is the friendships you can make. She even got her best friend through softball. She doesn’t only play softball, she also plays soccer and volleyball. Madelynn likes to hit more than field, this means she likes to be up to bat. If she got to choose if her team is  home or away, she would like for her team to be the home team. This is because when they’re in the field and they get down they would know how many points they need to score when up to bat.

We can’t wait to see what amazing things she does next.
