Eighteen year old two time state golf placer, Matilyn Zines started playing golf at a young age but at the time, she only wanted the snacks and didn’t care very much about actual golfing. She started talking golf seriously her freshman year and has been actually playing for four years. Now she is much more mature and plays golf for real. She placed twice at state. The first time she placed 12th, the second time she placed 8th.
If you are wondering what golf ball she prefers, she prefers ProV golf balls because they bring the flight down. The club she and other golfers use the most is the putter. In season, she practices six days a week. On Sunday she practices on a course that’s one hour away with a coach. Out of season, she goes to Oasis golf to practice for her game. She says TopGolf is a good place to practice at or go for fun because there is good food and fun games to play.
Some advice she has for younger golfers is to work a lot on your short game such as, putting and chipping.
