United Local School District

On Oct 26, 2023, I met with Mrs. Doyle to talk about what a school board member is, what they do, and why she wanted to be a school board member. We also talked about what the values of her job are and how her job has changed over the past couple years. Mrs. Doyle’s role is to come up with the best school possible. The community plays a major role in helping our school and she has to think about all the staff and students and how the building will effect them. She has to follow state laws so that means she has to make all these decisions for the school such as: construction, sports, buses, etc. and be within state law. There are many safety policies to follow. She is very excited for a new school. “We know there may be a new school, but it's still the same, loving, special, people with the same goals.”
