All the participants in the 2024 United Local District Spelling Bee represented their grades and classes well on Thursday February 8th. Four United Local students will move on to represent our district at the Columbiana County Spelling Bee in March. Taylor Simmons, 8th grade, is the 2024 United Local District Champion. She will be accompanied by Runners up- 7th grader Ruby Marshall, 6th grader Ezra Davis, and 5th grader Colton Wright. Congratulations and good luck!

I want to give a shout out to MS Counselor Mrs. Raymond. We are blessed to have such a caring and dedicated individual working with our students and staff. Mrs. Raymond's dedication to her students is truly commendable and I want to thank her for everything she does for United Local.

Good Luck to our Middle School girls basketball teams as they travel to Lisbon this evening to play in the championship. 7th grade will be playing Columbiana and the 8th grade will be playing Southern. Both games will begin at 5:00.

Love The Bus Month is celebrated every February and is dedicated to the influence of the school bus in American school culture. Use #LoveTheBus or @WELOVETHEBUS to share your “love” on social media.


These students have consistently demonstrated positive attitude toward their classmates, and have been a source of encouragement and support for others. Their peers have recognized their positivity as well as their academic achievements and they were chosen as our 6th grade Eagle Pride winners.

Our Middle School chess club had a special visit from Officer Bailey! We are all learning from each other and having a great time improving our strategies! ♟️





In Miss Ruiz's class students experiment with conservation of energy by dropping pencils into cups of salt from varying heights. After each drop they measure pencil depth, exploring potential vs. kinetic energy and energy transformation, showcasing the principles of conservation of energy.
