
Lots of 2nd grade Things today!!!




The Smile Mobile Dentist visited United students this week! Look at those pearly whites!



United Preschool had a special visitor this afternoon. A 10 day old baby lamb came to see us thanks to Mrs. Sarah Swope! 🐑 We learned about early signs of spring like flowers and baby animals, and of course got to pet our cute new friend!





Tomorrow on 3-2-23 United Local Elementary will be having a two hour early release, due to us having Parent-Teacher Conferences. We will begin loading our car riders at 1:10pm. If you are planning to pick up your student at the end of the day, please call the elementary office at 330-223-8001, to add them to the pick up list. Also, for the safety of all of our students, please remain in your car and do not walk up to the office pick up your student. Thank you!


Registration packets for the 2023-2024 Preschool Program at United Local Elementary are available in the Elementary Office, Door 8, from 8:00am - 4:00pm for pick-up. Or parents can request a preschool registration packet by going to the following link: https://forms.gle/dfzBf6C2jSLw6PvX6


Please take a moment to look at the pictured items that have been turned into our lost and found. Contact the elementary office at 330-223-8001 or stop in during Parent Teachers Conferences on March 2nd to claim your child's items. We will only hold these items until the end of the evening on March 2nd to be claimed.


Second grade students in Ms. Buckshaw’s class are learning about biographies. Students each chose one person to research after a whole group “mystery person” activity. Here they are starting their research!





Second graders are working on writing lab reports! They are busy conducting an experiment first, then writing about each step. They are having a blast and learning at the same time!





To conclude their states of matter unit, Miss Wilmoth's class made root beer floats with student teacher Miss Greeneisen! Students identified the state of matter for each part of the float as well as discussing what happens when the states of matter change.





Mrs. Garn's first graders and Mrs. Connor's 8th graders exchanged Valentine's today to celebrate Valentine's day and got to know each other better while eating some yummy treats! 💘💘💘





Today Mrs. Marshall's first grade class got to exchange Valentines with several of Mrs. Burch's students in the high school. Thank you all so much, this was a fantastic! Happy Valentine's Day!

Representatives from SHP Architects and Hammond Construction will be present to share design renderings, construction updates, and logistics and traffic flow plans for the 2023-24 school year.


Attention to our Elementary Parents: We will be having our second of five no face-to-face learning days tomorrow 2/15/23 for students in Kindergarten and First Grade. Students have learning packets coming home today to complete.


Now that they are halfway through their nonfiction reading unit, students in Mrs. Leitza's literacy class were challenged to use what they’ve learned to escape from their Valentine’s Day Escape Room! They were identifying text structures, finding main ideas / details, and using text features to complete their four tasks about Valentine’s Day around the world. Lots of hard work was taking place today! 😊❤️









Some of our first grade friends celebrated their 100th day of school by creating necklaces with 100 fruit loops!





Another 100 Days have been completed with style. Today, we had students and staff dressed up as 100 year olds and students who created amazing shirts with 100 items on them. Great job Eagles!

Mrs. Malone's classes had "Boot Camp" today to begin a unit on writing essays. "Sergeant" Bailey helped to get the 4th grade students ready.





Students in Mrs. Greenawalt’s class are practicing being mindful on this Monday afternoon! Students are focusing on what is happening in the moment.
