Congratulations to Justus Lewand! He is now certified as a Microsoft Office Specialist - Word Expert Microsoft 365 Apps! This is his 5th certification - and he is the first one this year to have earned all 5 Microsoft certifications! Way to go, Justus!!!

Mr. Gentry's Agriculture, food & natural resource students completed their Food Science final project this week. Students developed a popcorn recipe, developed a marketing plan, calculated nutritional facts with unit conversions, created packaging and even cooked their recipes! 🍿 The final presentations were given in class, where classmates analyzed their classmates pitch, food products based on sensory evaluation and ranked the products. This project brings the entire food science unit together for students to apply! Gordon Ramsey would not have been disappointed 🧑🏼‍🍳👨🏽‍🍳

Students in Mr. Gentry's plant & animal science class are still working hard on their hydroponics projects. Check out the progress! The first group harvested their first harvest of Kale, measuring 175 grams from 10 plants 🥬 The group growing green beans are starting to get flower development, which will grow into beans 🫛 Harper the class even approves the of students produce 🐰

Congratulations to Piper Richey! She is now certified as a Microsoft Office Specialist - PowerPoint Associate Microsoft 365 Apps! This is her second certification this year. This certification adds 3 more points toward her graduation seal. Way to go, Piper!!!

Congratulations to Lucy Stout for earning her OSHA-10 certification! OSHA-10 is a workforce safety credential recognized by all employers and required for many jobs. In Ohio, the OSHA-10 credential earns a student 1 point toward an industry recognized credential across all career pathways.

Today is National Maintenance and Grounds Worker Day. We are United in our appreciation for all of the support that you give to our staff and students on a daily basis. TODAY! 'Egg' stravaganza Breakfast at Winona Friends Church: The United Community Scholarship Foundation's annual 'Egg' stravaganza breakfast fundraiser is being held at the Winona Friends Church this morning from 7am to Noon. The new location is a result of the construction, but you can expect all the amazing foods made order right in front of you - Omelets, Crepes, Donuts, and more. Cost for the all-you-can-eat breakfast is $10 for adults, $6 for children ages 4-12, and under 4 are free. Last year, the UCSF gave out $18,000 in scholarships to United graduates. Thank you for continuing to support our students and the efforts of our local foundation. Pictured are our elementary grade level placement winners. Their designed placemats along with all other student created placemats will be on display as part of the breakfast.
