Day 2 of “United takes on the 95th National FFA Convention and expo”. Students are attending the opening session with thousands of FFA members from all over the country! It’s going to be a great day



11 United FFA members are heading to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana for 4 days. First stop of the day is the U.S Air Force Museum in Dayton, OH. Students got to tour the museum, see artifacts and decommissioned Air Force property.




Congratulations to Regan Sheets. She is the first student in the whole district to earn her SECOND Microsoft Office Specialist Certification this year. Regan is now certified in both Microsoft Office Word Basic, and Microsoft Office Word Expert! Way to go Regan!

The Boys Soccer team won their District Semi Final game Tuesday Night 6-0 against Akron Manchester. They are ranked 11th in the state D3 and improve to 16-1-2. They play Kidron Central Christian on Saturday at 11am at Salem’s Sebo Stadium for the District Championship.

FALL BONFIRE
We will have a high school Bonfire on Wednesday evening at 7:30 PM, behind the school by the baseball field. We will celebrate our fall teams, cheerleaders, and band as our sports season is coming to a close.
Mr. Jones’ Citizenship class has been learning about U.S. Trade Policy and recently conducted a trade simulation to experience what it is like to be a country trying to get resources it needs and wants from other countries.

United Local FFA Chapter would like to extend a HUGE thank you to the Irwin family & Irwin Family farms who are local farmers and supporters of United Local FFA for taking time out of their extremely busy harvest season to run our beans on our school farm. 8th grade Family and Consumer Sciences class celebrated Carson’s birthday today with some homemade chocolate cake.

High-school Students in Mr.Gentry’s Ag program traveled to Columbiana County fair grounds to attend the 1st ever Agricultural Career Expo. Students got to network with local and state Ag agencies, businesses and community members, attend resume & interview workshops and even got addressed by Congressman Bill Johnson on the importance of Agricultural leaders. Thank you to Columbiana County Extension office for planning the event!

Students in Woods I began staining their coat racks today. They are almost complete and looking good!


Mr. Gentry’s 8th grade intro to Agriculture class is wrapping up the welding unit. Students got to try their hand at Shielded metal arc welding or more commonly know as Stick welding. There were several students who were excellent at the skill and they helped teach the other students!
