Mr. Gentry's 8th grade intro to agriculture class has been learning about misconceptions in agriculture. To start the unit, groups researched common misconceptions in animal agriculture such as tail docking of sheep, clipping needle teeth in piglets and showing animals for exhibition. groups were tasked with determining factual information on both sides of the issue and then choosing a aside as a group. The unit will be wrapped up by watching Food, Inc. To learn how marketing strategies and persuasion techniques are used to taint the agriculture industry!
