
Students in Intro to Agriculture class wrapped up their 9 weeks learning about food science! Students participated in 5 stations where they tested their sense of smell, designed packaging for eggs and taste tested different versions of the same foods. Their packaging was tested by a 8 foot dead drop with a egg inside. 3 of the 5 groups packaging protected their eggs!





A big congratulations to the United Local Band soloist that competed at OMEA State Solo/ Ensemble contest on Saturday! Everyone received Superior and Excellent Ratings! Nate Hall (Superior Snare Solo), Luke Hull (Superior Snare/ Xylophone Solos), Jenna Marhefka (Excellent Piano Solo), Natalie Summers (Excellent Trumpet Solo), Nathan Satterfield (Excellent Trumpet Solo), and Ethan Hively (Excellent Trombone Solo). 8th graders in Intro to Agriculture class have been learning all about welding. The 3 main types, how to safely weld and even got to practice welding! Students who excelled in the intro. Weld got to weld their name to take home, check it out!

United FFA Members had a great time in Columbus at the Ohio FFA Premier leadership conference, Connect/I am. Members enjoyed 2 session this morning, and then had fun bonding with other chapter members at Top Golf and Cabela’s before heading north to United!





Congratulations to the eight United Local Band students who performed last night at the Kent All Star Band! You represented your school with pride and performed a fantastic performance! The freshman and sophomores are in the Connect conference today with 200 Ohio FFA Members. We had members that earned the 2 top awards in the first session. Sophomore Chance Cope won the “shark award” for being most involved in the activities & Connor Perry earned the corn award for being most open and honest in discussion. United FFA Members are paving their way in FFA!



25 United FFA Members traveled to Dublin, OH to participate in the Connect & I am Leadership conference hosted by the Ohio FFA Association. Members are networking with and practicing premier leadership with 400 Ohio FFA Members. “We aren’t just cows and plowed, we are leaders and achievers”

Students in Woods I completed a small project after returning from Christmas break. Each student designed and built a wooden stand for their cell phone. Here are some examples from both classes.





The Sophomore class visited the Columbiana County Career Center today to explore program options. They had a great time trying out various activities in each lab.





Congratulations to Austin Householder! He is now an Autodesk Certified User: Fusion 360! This is his third Autodesk certification, which means he has earned his Graduation Seal in Engineering! Way to go, Austin!!!

Congratulations to Landon Rummel! He is now certified as a Microsoft Office PowerPoint Specialist! This is his second certification as a Microsoft Office Specialist, and with his two CADD certifications he has earned a Graduation Seal in Technology. Way to go, Landon!!!


Students in Building Trades I recently completed another project in their 1st Project Book. This project was a breadbox that taught skills such as using a Kreg Jig to make joints and using a router to cut a groove for the Plexiglas in the front door. Students did a great job, check out some of their work!

Mr. Gentry’s 6th grade Career exploration class has been learning all about communication this week. Today, students learned the importance of non-verbal communication and did an activity where the practiced using different body language to act out a specific emotion or feeling like impatience, happiness, nervousness, etc. The students then discussed why this is important in careers and when in public. United has some great actors and actresses!
