
We welcomed Katelyn Haver, PA-C from Aultman Emergency room into Mr. Gentry’s career exploration class today. Katelyn discussed what it took to become a Physician Assistant, answered medical questions and even taught the students how to give medical injections & stitches. The students enjoyed practicing being a medical professional.





We welcomed Deputy Bailey into Mr. Gentry’s 6th grade Career Exploration class on Thursday. Deputy discussed his road to becoming an officer, told some stories and answered questions students had. Thank you for your service to our schools and for visiting our class! 🚓


FOOD DRIVE TROPHY RETURNS TO UNITED!
United brings the Clash of the Cans food drive challenge with Lisbon back to United last evening, having collected 2,341 food items over the course of this week. The traveling trophy will stay at United until the contest resumes next fall.


Students in Woods I worked on their 1st project this week. They are making a coat rack, which requires accurate measuring as well as correct use of the router and drill press. Here is a quick look at some of their work.




The United High School “Flight” show choir performed at the annual Algonquin Mill Festival in Carrollton last weekend.





Today we welcomed Petty Officer Hoffman to speak with our math students about the Navy and the benefits that the military has to offer. Senior Math students finished their vision boards this week where students were exploring their futures. #FindYourE




Vylette Hill, an 8th grade Vocational Agriculture student in Mr. Gentry’s intro to Ag. Class recently submitted this design to an FFA Sticker contest sponsored my Precision Planting. If Vylette’s design is chosen, there will be over 30,000 stickers handed out at the 2022 National FFA Convention. We are very excited to see how her design does!


Lisbon and United High Schools Team Up for Community Service!
With there being no school at United on Friday, TOMORROW (Thursday) is the last day of the week to bring in food items for the Clash of the Cans food drive challenge. Lisbon and United Student Councils are sponsoring the food drive contest between the two schools as a way to raise donated food items to help those that need in both communities. The contest has been going at each school over the course of this week, with a traveling trophy to be awarded to the school of the current year champion. In short, the school that collects the most food items this week will be the 2022 Clash of the Cans Champion. The winning school will be announced at half-time during the varsity football game this Friday, when Lisbon travels to take on United at home.

The 12th state ranked boys soccer team beat West Branch 4-0 on Senior Night! They end regular season with a record of 14-2-1. They will host a Sectional Final on Thursday, October 20 at 6pm against an opponent to still be determined!


Good afternoon United parents of 9th graders. There will be a very important meeting on this Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. in Ms. Whiteleather's room, (3rd floor, room 304). We will begin planning fundraising in preparation for you child's Prom and After-Prom. That's this Thursday, October 13, at 7:30 p.m.

Congratulations to Regan Sheets! She is now certified as a Microsoft Office Basic Word Specialist! She is the first student at United to become certified as a Microsoft Office Basic Word Specialist this year. Way to go, Regan!!!

2014 graduate Jordan Miller spoke to the English classes of Mrs. Clunen and Mrs. Zines today. Jordan discussed his current career in the news as a radio show host, a newspaper owner and a reporter. He also talked about his time at United and the importance of having a plan.



Today students in Woods I and Building Trades I started their first project. Students have learned about shop safety and proper power tool operation and are excited to start putting their tool practice to use by constructing paper towel holders and coat racks.





Mr. Gentry’s career exploration class has been learning about the qualities of effective interview skills. Today, the class conducted mock interviews! We had McDonalds interviews, pear taste testers, and a worm dissection specialist. It was a fun way for students to put the skills they’ve learned about to the test!




Congratulations to Chloe Thomas! She is now certified as a Microsoft Office Word Expert! She is the first student at United to become certified as a Microsoft Office Specialist this year. Way to go, Chloe!!!


CONFERENCE NIGHT - OCT. 13
Parent-Teacher Conference Night is set for Thursday, October 13. Parents of elementary students can schedule conference times directly with their teachers using Dojo. Middle and high school students can call the high school office to schedule conference times. We hope to see all of our parents on conference night, next Thursday, October 13th.
