Livestock management students chick quest project is in full swing! The chicks are still in their 33 degree Celsius brooder, learning how to use the automatic waters and self feeders.
Students have learned how to properly handle baby chicks, put Individual identification numbers on each chick and have taken starting weights on their control groups.
Students will be recording weights, behavior and animal health on each bird that is apart of their project 2 times per week for 6 weeks. Stay tuned 🐥
Tickets are on sale for the Tribute to USO: Korean War Reunion until Nov 10. Shows are Nov 15 and 16 starting at 6:30. Dinner tickets are $16, bleacher seats are $5, and all Veterans eat free with the price code Veteran!

Reminder to our Parents and Students:
There will be no school for students due to the General Election tomorrow, Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Our staff members will still attend for a Staff In-Service Day.
Livestock management class, in collaboration with OSU Extensions Chick Quest program & United Local schools 2nd grade classes who hatched these chicks, are raising Cornish cross broilers!
Students will be conducting management trials with 26 birds!
Group 1: studying the impact of bedding type on carcass quality, feed conversion profitability and rate of gain.
Group 2: studying the impact on growth rate comparing 18% & 20% protein crumbles, feed conversion profitability & rate of gain.
On December 11th, the birds will be harvested during a class trip to the processor, and vacuum sealed to be sold as a fundraiser. Stay tuned! 🐥

Congratulations to our United Local Boys Soccer Team. They won their Division Five District final in double overtime on Saturday, October 26, 2024. Great job to our Boy's Soccer Team made up of Jude Andrea, Maddox Andrea, Seth Blake, Zach Blake, Abram Ceresna, Conner Coffee, Gavin Coffee, Emerson Davis, Zac Figley, Joshua Hawkins, Liam Jones, Landon Jones, Michael Logan, Jase Medure, Luke Mercer, Cayden Pitts, Daniel Readshaw, RJ Salmen, Stephen Sutliff and Blake Wickersham.
Attention Elementary School, Middle School and High School parents and students:
On Thursday, October 31, 2024, our Elementary students K-4 and MS 5th grade, and High school students 9-12 are allowed to wear costumes.
On Friday, November 1, 2024, our Middle School students grades 6-8 will wear costumes.
All costumes must follow district guidelines:

National School Bus Safety Week October 16th—20th
We, as drivers, can help our children get to school safety by avoiding all distractions and following a few important safety rules. Thank you for helping keep the roads safe, while our bus drivers transport our students.
On October 22, 2024, at 3:00 PM in the Elementary Library at United Local. An AHA Heartsaver AED/CPR/First Aid Training being led by Susan Laughlin. To attend this training the cost for school staff or students is $25, and for community members is $50. To reserve a seat either email susan.laughlin@eaglepride.net or call 330-223-2829.

There will be NO SCHOOL on Friday, October 18, 2024, due to Parent Teachers Conferences on October 17, 2024.
Attention freshman class parents: this is a reminder that there will be an organizational parent meeting Thursday night at 5:00 in the high school library. The purpose of the meeting is to elect parent officers and begin discussing prom and after-prom. If you would like to be involved but cannot make the meeting, please call Mrs. Ward at the school. A reminder one-call will go out Wednesday at 5:00.
Reminder to Seniors/Senior Parents and Guardians! There will be a Financial Aid Presentation held in the High School Library this Thursday, October 17th at 6pm. If you plan to attend a College or Trade School next year, I encourage you to attend!
