OUTSTANDING EDUCATOR & OUTSTANDING STUDENTS
Mrs. Fitch and her students were recently recognized by Microsoft for scoring in the top ten in the state of Ohio on the Fall Certiport Industry Recognized Credential Specialist assessments. Each of the students pictured placed in the top ten in either Microsoft Word, Excel, or PowerPoint. In fact, United students claimed all ten places in the PowerPoint assessment except for 3rd place. And seniors Justice Lewand and Emma McDevitt placed in the top ten for all three Microsoft applications.
Mrs. Fitch teaches the Microsoft certification course and was recognized as an “Outstanding Educator” for “…consistently having students rank in the top ten in the state” on these certification assessments. Superintendent Hostetler presented the award to Mrs. Fitch and congratulated all of the students for their success.

Good morning, there is currently a gas leak near State Route 9 that is being repaired due to damage by recent weather. The campus will be closed and all current activities canceled until further notice. We will send another alert when the repairs are complete.

Congratulations to Daniel Readshaw! He is now certified as an Autodesk Certified User: AutoCAD®. This industry recognized certification earns Daniel 4 points toward his12-point graduation seal in Engineering. Way to go, Daniel!!!


Congratulations to Logan Brewer! He was given time to research and attempt to fix the 3-D printer in our shop, and he succeeded! The printer is now up and running thanks to his work.


Attention Seniors/Senior Parents/Guardians, this is a reminder that there will be a FAFSA completion night held at the High School in Mrs. Fitch's room, 235, on 1/17/24 at 6pm. If you need support filling out the FAFSA, I encourage you to attend! We hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas Break. All of our staff is looking forward to seeing all of our great students. United Local School District will resume classes on Thursday, January 4, 2024.

Merry Tuba Christmas!
Several of our high school band members participated in the 2023 Tuba Christmas concert held in Akron this past Saturday. They were part of over 500 musicians on the stage and the audience at E.J. Thomas Hall was completely filled by the time the concert began. Tuba Christmas concerts take place all over the world annually, and this year marked the 50th year since the first Tuba Christmas concert was performed in Rockefeller Plaza, New York.




Sixth grade students this week had fun creating unique ornaments, gingerbread houses, and watching a movie hosted by the United FFA in the middle school gym.









The future is bright at United! These entrepreneurs made the first ever student vendor Santa's Workshop a huge success. Over $2500 was earned by students selling their products. In addition to money earned, students donated $230 for the community out reach program.











Good morning, United Local School District will be on a two-hour delay today, December 19th. Morning pre-school will be canceled. All drivers, please take your time and students are encouraged to use the bus system to get to school.

High school art students were invited to decorate the elementary foyer by painting the windows to look like the book Bear Stays Up For Christmas. Students painted different sections together in groups. The students did a wonderful job!
